Method of Payment
Acceptable methods of payment are by personal check mailed to P.O. Box 888576, Atlanta, GA 30356, or by credit card here on our website. A $45 fee will be charged for checks returned for insufficient funds.
Because foreign currency exchanges can fluctuate, the trip price in U.S. dollars can increase before our trip date. If nominal, we can absorb these increases for you. However, if the increase is substantial, additional charges may apply. We will advise you if this occurs.
We also reserve the right to increase our per person prices if a minimum number of travelers is not met for a specific tour.
Your final payment to 3rd Rock Adventures is due no later than 90 days prior to departure (unless a trip requires another timeframe for payment). If we do not receive your final payment by the due date, we will consider this a cancellation, and any advance deposits will be forfeited.
Please contact us immediately regarding late payments, as they can result in a non-refundable cancellation of some or all services booked.
We charge $50.00 for any personal change made to your itinerary that affects your travel.
Cancellation Policy and Fees
All cancellations must be received in writing (via email or mailed letter). Cancellation fees will be imposed according to the schedule below.
Days Prior to Trip:
3 days after booking to 150 days prior to departure: $150.00 administration fee
150 days to 90 days prior to departure: 40% of tour cost + $150.00 administration fee
79 days to 60 days prior to departure: 60% of tour cost + $150 administration fee
60 days or less: 100% of tour cost
If you cancel within 3 days of booking, as long as the tour is more than 100 days out, we will give you a refund minus a $50.00 administrative fee.
Where plane tickets have been purchased the cost of the plane ticket will be deducted from any refundable amount.
We may be able to work with you on reducing your cancellation fees if you find a replacement, provided we approve the substitution. All related correspondence to this effect must be in writing (via email or mailed letter).
If you had planned to share a room, the cost of a single supplement will be charged as well, in addition to the above-noted cancellation fees.
Passports and Visas
The responsibility is yours alone to make sure you have the proper travel documents for your trip, though we will do our best to inform you of all visa requirements and needs. A passport is required for all international travel, and the expiration date must be at least six months from the return travel date. In addition, you must have two blank pages in your passport for our trips. We will give no refunds or credits to travelers denied boarding due to improper documentation.
No Cancellation/ Non Refundable Prices
You are receiving a sizable discount for paying early with and making your purchase No Cancellation/ Non Refundable. The agreement time period is from 48 hours after date of your purchase through 61 days prior to departure. ( Within 60 days of Departure all Payments are 100% non refundable per the cancellation policy). This does mean that from 48 hours after your purchase to 61 days prior to our trip, 3rd Rock adventures will not refund your cancellation request for any personal reasons on the purchasers part. 3rd Rock Adventures will gladly refund your payments should your trip be Cancelled by 3rd Rock Adventures, the Itinerary Significantly changed, or the Dates of your trip changed by more than 48 hours. In all of our years in the travel business we have never cancelled, altered trip dates or significantly altered a trip itinerary. You realize that by choosing the lesser price and by accepting our terms and conditions that your payment becomes Non Refundable/No Cancellation 48 hours after received.
Trip Information and Documents
Most trip documents can be sent via email, but if hard copies are required, we will send them ten days before your trip. Overnight service can be requested for a $35.00 fee.
Airlines change their schedules often, and we urge you to re-check all times and flight details with your airline prior to departure. 3rd Rock Adventures cannot be held responsible for such changes and their impact to our trip plans, but we will do our best to adjust when needed.
Please check with your airline to confirm all current baggage allowances and restrictions, including those for size, weight, and quantity.
For trip transfers and transportation, we include the handling of one piece of standard luggage and one carry-on item. Additional bags will incur a one-time cost of $50.00 payable to your tour director during the trip.
Most of the hotels that we partner with are first-class. The sleeping rooms have twin beds with a private bathroom. Please note that all hotels are subject to change, and if such a change is required, we will work to find equivalent lodgings. When traveling internationally, note that hotels abroad can be equipped differently than hotels in the United States.

Our travelers must be in good health to join our trips. If you have any disability or pre-existing condition (physical or mental) that could affect your participation, we must be made aware at the time of your booking. No exceptions. 3rd Rock Adventures reserves the right to decline your reservation, or require you to travel with a companion who can accommodate your needs, if your conditions preclude your ability to safely enjoy the trip. Safety is a priority for us.
We also strongly encourage you to complete the Medical information form prior to travel. This form will ask for a great deal of medical information that you would want a doctor to know if any health situation or medical emergency were to unfortunately arise during your trip. We suggest you fill this form out entirely with this thought in mind: “What would a doctor need to know if I could not speak for myself?” We consider this information as personally sensitive as your passport number or credit card number. Your tour director will have a copy of this in an individually sealed envelope that will only be opened should an emergency happen. It will only be used if absolutely necessary.
Some activities, like horseback riding or zip lining, may have weight restrictions. Participation is often at the discretion of local guides. Please call us if you have any concerns.
3rd Rock Adventures operates solely as an agent for the various independent suppliers that provide such services as transportation, accommodations, sightseeing, or other services connected with your tour. We issue tickets and travel documents as an agent for the companies that provide these services and they are subject to term and conditions of the respective suppliers. 3rd Rock Adventures and their respective employees, agents, representatives and assigns accept no liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or any other incident which may be caused by negligence, defect, default or any company or person in performing these services.Responsibility is not accepted for losses, injury, damages or expenses of any kind due to sickness, weather, strikes, hostilities, wars , terrorist acts, acts of nature, local laws or other such causes 3rd Rock and its suppliers will make every effort to operate tours as disclosed. However, circumstances beyond our control may arise requiring an adjustment to the tour or amend the itinerary. We will do all possible to avoid any changes and to offer substitutions, but we reserve the right to make such modifications if deemed necessary. If the services set forth cannot be supplied, we will supply comparable services and accommodation. Additional expenses, if any, shall be on the participant. 3rd Rock Adventures is not responsible for loss or damage to property, baggage, accident, illness, injury or death to persons resulting from any act of suppliers or caused by strike, war, weather, delays, and government regulations. And cause beyond reasonable control. Services are subject to laws of the country where service is rendered. Although we investigate each destination thoroughly, we have no special knowledge of changes in foreign entry requirements or health hazards in regions we travel. Participants are responsible for verifying any health conditions that could exist at a trip destination. You may visit the State Dept. or CDC websites for details. We reserve the right to remove you from a trip if you not been forthright with your physical limitations up until the day of departure. Any suits in connection with this Agreement shall be litigated, if at all, in the courts of Cherokee County, Georgia, to the exclusion of other courts in other states.
- Motor coaches are all non-smoking.
- 3rd Rock Adventures (including our tour directors or agents) may, at our sole discretion, dismiss any traveler from a trip or activity and/or refuse service for disruptive behavior.
- 3rd Rock Adventures reserves the right to cancel, or reschedule, any tour prior to departure for any reason.
- When traveling internationally, you gain valuable cultural experience and insight. But don’t forget that you may encounter situations and events different than you would at home. Keep in mind this can be part of the fun!
